Studied in Oxford, Cambridge & Paris, refused in 1665 a position as "hoogleraar" in Deventer.
Traveled with his "gezant" Adriaen Paedts to Spain and afterwards to Italy.
"Hoogleraar" at Pisa from 1674-1776
Lived in Deventer.
Distinguished professor at the University of Leiden
"Hoogleraar" at Leiden in 1679 - 1716 in Greek, History and "welsprekendheid" in 1702.
University Geographer "Geografus der Universiteit" in 1702.
His temperament, like his dad, didn't make him popular.
